Accessibility Workshop
Accessibility, straight benefits and its impact in mobile Web.
The Web is a reality already present in infinity of our life's aspects. We work, study, pay our taxes or even spend our spare time using it. This universal character of its use, altogether with its diversity of users, makes necessary the implementation of a basic principles and conditions set, among which, Accessibility is an essential one. With its adoption, we allow the people with disabilities and also the ancient ones to use the Web as any other user, benefiting these last at the same time. For example, we make it possible to use the Web through a mobile phone without having to build device-specific versions of the websites.
In this workshop, the most relevant requirements for an inclusive and accessible Web will be shown in a practical manner. It will also reveal the benefits that this compliance provides with and how it is possible to use this standards compliant Web in mobile devices.
Objectives: to show in a non-technical and practical manner the most relevant aspects about a standards compliant Web specially focusing on Accessibility and mobile Web.
Audience: people involved in Information Society policies development and adoption, e-inclusion and technologies for development and cooperation.
